# Explore
The Explore tab opens the public LottieFiles library directly inside After Effects. Browse, search, preview, and import animations — both the free public library and Premium curated collections — without leaving your project.

This chapter covers how to find what you need, what's different about Premium content, the preview-then-import flow, and a reference for every control in the Explore panel.

## In this chapter

- **[Finding animations](/en/integrations/after-effects/02_explore/finding-animations)** — search, sort, and browse Featured collections.
- **[Premium animations](/en/integrations/after-effects/02_explore/premium-animations)** — what's in the Premium tab and how licensing differs from the free library.

## Limits and plans

The Free tab works for everyone — signed-out guests can insert up to 3 animations total per device, signed-in users have no insert limit on free content. The Premium tab is browsable on every plan, but **inserting** a Premium animation requires a paid LottieFiles plan that includes the premium content library. See [How plans affect the plugin](/en/integrations/after-effects/10_workspace/plans-and-limits).

- **[Previewing and importing](/en/integrations/after-effects/02_explore/previewing-and-importing)** — hover preview, full preview, and inserting an animation into a composition.
- **[Explore panel controls](/en/integrations/after-effects/02_explore/explore-panel-controls)** — every control on the Explore tab.
