# Export
The Export tab is where you actually run the render. It lists every composition in the project you have open, runs the render through After Effects in the background, and uploads the result to your LottieFiles workspace.

This chapter focuses on the **mechanics** of running an export — single render, batch render, the render queue, and the export panel's controls. For decisions about which format and runtime to target before you render, see [Render](/en/integrations/after-effects/05_render). For pre-export AE comp prep, see [Preparing comps](/en/integrations/after-effects/04_preparing-comps). For after-export concerns, see [Download](/en/integrations/after-effects/07_download) and [Feature checker](/en/integrations/after-effects/08_feature-checker).

The Troubleshooting section inside [Exporting compositions as Lottie](/en/integrations/after-effects/06_export/exporting-compositions-as-lottie) is the consolidated home for AE plugin troubleshooting — about 99% of issues motion designers run into surface during render or upload, so they all land there.
