Anchor Point
The anchor point (pivot point) is a crucial concept for controlling how layers transform.
What is the Anchor Point?
The anchor point controls:
- •Center of rotation - Where layer rotates around
- •Center of scale - Where layer scales from
- •Transform origin - Reference point for all transforms
Seeing the Anchor Point
- •Appears as crosshair icon on selected layer
- •Usually centered by default
- •Can be moved to any position
Moving the Anchor Point
Using Anchor Point Tool:
Select layer
Hold Y (temporary anchor point mode)
Drag anchor point to new position
Using Properties:
Select layer
Find Anchor Point in property panel
Effect on Transforms:
- •Moving anchor point doesn't move the layer
- •Changes where rotation and scale originate
