Moving Layers

Learn how to move layers freely or with precision using the Selection Tool.

Free Movement

Drag to Move:

1. Select layer with Selection Tool

2. Click and drag anywhere on the layer

3. Release to drop at new position

Keyboard Nudging:

• •Arrow keys - Move 1px in any direction
• •Shift + Arrow - Move 10px (larger increment)

Constrained Movement:

• •Shift + Drag - Lock to horizontal or vertical axis
• •Movement snaps to nearest axis (X or Y or 45 degree angle)

Precise Positioning

Using Property Panel:

1. Select layer

2. In right sidebar, find Position property

3. Enter exact X and Y values

4. Or use increment arrows for fine control

Numeric Input:

• •Position values are in pixels
• •Can enter negative values
• •Supports decimal values for sub-pixel positioning
