Import

The Import tab brings external animation files into your After Effects composition. Use it when the source isn't in the LottieFiles library (Explore) or your team workspace — for example, a Lottie shared by a client or a .svg icon you want to animate.

This chapter is the counterpart to Explore. Explore pulls from the LottieFiles library; Import pulls from your local disk or a URL.

What you can import

• .lottie — dotLottie containers (single or multi-animation)

• .json — Lottie JSON

• .svg — vector graphics (converted to animatable shape layers in AE)
