Prepare
Preview and prepare Lottie animations before inserting them into Framer.
Preparation is the optional step between finding an animation and inserting it. A simple animation can keep its defaults. Use the pages in this chapter when the source needs review, a visual adjustment, or an advanced dotLottie feature.
In this chapter
Adding a local animation - upload a local source to Workspace before using it in Framer.
Previewing and customizing - inspect playback, background, and renderer.
Recoloring an animation - apply a preset or custom palette and save the result to Workspace.
Working with multi-animation files - choose one child animation from a dotLottie bundle.
Using themes - select a default theme or map themes to Framer light and dark modes.
Preparing state machines - test and insert an interactive state machine.
Keep the first insertion simple
Only enable a renderer, theme, or state machine because the published experience needs it. Extra runtime features increase the number of states that must be tested after publishing.
