Updating a published animation
Replace a Webflow animation when its Workspace source changes.
Workspace is the reviewable source of truth, but an inserted Webflow element does not automatically move to a new Workspace version.
Review the new source
Open the updated file in the app Workspace.
Compare it with the animation currently published in Webflow.
Confirm the child animation, theme IDs, state-machine IDs, dimensions, and background expectations.
Preview the updated file before changing the page.
Replace the page element
Keep the existing element until the replacement is ready:
Insert the updated animation into a temporary container or duplicate page.
Match Webflow classes and responsive layout.
Reapply theme, child-animation, and state-machine choices.
Test Preview and staging, then remove the old element and unused Asset when appropriate.
Publish and verify the production URL.
For advanced players, reinsertion can also refresh the generated attributes and page runtime configuration. Do not update only the visual thumbnail.
