Plans and limits
Compare free and paid plan behavior for the LottieFiles plugin for Figma, including workspace caps and Premium content.
The LottieFiles plugin for Figma follows the same workspace and plan model used by the LottieFiles platform and other plugins.
The main free-plan limit to understand first is the 5-file workspace export limit: free workspaces can save up to 5 files. The next limit is 20 MB of DAM storage.
What works on every plan
Browse free animations in Explore.
Preview free animations before insertion.
Insert free animations into a Figma scene.
Browse and search Workspace after sign-in, if you have access to that workspace.
Run local Figma to Lottie previews and exports where the selected workflow is available.
What needs a paid LottieFiles plan
| Feature | Plan requirement | What you see on free |
| Save more than 5 files to a workspace | Paid workspace or higher workspace file limit | Upgrade prompt when saving beyond the cap |
| Use more than 20 MB of DAM storage | Paid workspace storage quota | Storage or upgrade prompt |
| Insert Premium animations | Plan that includes Premium content | Locked or upgrade action |
| Use plan-gated workspace organization or handoff features | Workspace capability | Locked action or upgrade prompt |
Free workspace export and storage caps
Free workspaces have two simultaneous caps:
5-file workspace export limit - up to 5 saved files in the workspace.
20 MB DAM storage limit - total storage for saved Lottie files and related workspace assets.
Hitting either cap can block new workspace saves. Local design work in Figma can continue, but saving another file to Workspace opens an upgrade path.
Signed-out behavior
Signed-out users can browse parts of Explore, but Workspace, saving, sharing, and plan-specific actions require sign-in.
