Working with multi-animation files
Choose and add one animation from a multi-animation dotLottie file in Canva.
A dotLottie file can contain several related animations, such as the states of one component or a family of icons. The Canva app lets you choose which child animation to use.
Open the bundle
Open a supported dotLottie v1 or v2 file from Workspace or Import. If the file contains more than one animation, the preview shows an animation selector or carousel.
Choose a child animation
Browse the available animation thumbnails or names.
Select a child animation.
Play and scrub through it.
Recolor it when palette controls are available.
Click Add to design.
Only the selected child animation is prepared for the Canva insertion.
Continue in Creator
Use Open in Creator when you need to change the child animation itself or reorganize the bundle. Confirm which animation is active before leaving Canva.
Limitations
The Canva workflow selects animations; it does not expose dotLottie theme or state-machine controls.
Exporting or inserting one child is different from preserving the full bundle for a runtime.
An unnamed child can appear with its manifest ID or a generated label.
