Runtime compatibility

Choose the right Lottie format and player for Figma exports, including JSON, dotLottie, SVG, and ThorVG playback.

A successful Figma export is only the first step. The animation still needs to play correctly in the destination runtime.

For Figma exports, prefer dotLottie (.lottie) for smaller files and advanced features like state machines, themes, and motion tokens. Use Lottie JSON only when the destination still requires legacy lottie-web playback. Interactive state machines always require dotLottie and a dotLottie runtime.
