Troubleshooting

Diagnose common Framer plugin, insertion, preview, and publishing problems.

Start by locating the boundary: source file, plugin preview, Framer component, Framer Preview, or published site.

SymptomCheck
Workspace is emptyConfirm the signed-in account, active workspace, and project permissions
Search returns nothingUse at least three focused characters and clear conflicting Free/Premium or source filters
Insert does nothingConfirm the preview finished loading, then try a simple single-animation file
Component appears in the wrong placeSelect the intended Frame before insertion, then move the result with Framer controls
Animation is clippedCheck the parent Frame's size and overflow at every breakpoint
Preview is blankSwitch to Automatic or ThorVG Player and confirm the source URL remains available
Theme does not changeConfirm the file contains the selected theme IDs and ThorVG Player is active
State machine does not respondEnable state-machine mode, select the correct machine, and test in Framer Preview rather than the static canvas
Plugin preview works but the live site failsRepublish, open the live URL in a clean tab, and check whether the player source can load without authentication
Workspace update is missingReinsert or replace the Framer component; updates are not synchronized automatically

Isolate an advanced-feature problem

  1. Duplicate the page or keep the existing component as a fallback.

  2. Insert a simple free single-animation file with default settings.

  3. If it works, reintroduce the renderer, theme, multi-animation selection, or state machine one at a time.

  4. Publish to staging after each meaningful change.

Get help

Use the plugin Help menu to report a bug. Include the Framer project context, source type, renderer, whether the problem appears in Preview or only after publishing, and a non-private reproduction when possible.
